Released by !%Bruker Daltonics%!, application note FTMS-35 — titled “apex-Qe: A Powerful Platform for Molecular Formula Determination” — provides datathat illustrates the effectiveness of combining apex-Qe Fourier transform mass spectrometry and the Generate Molecular Formula (GMF) tool in the DataAnalysis software package. It asserts that the spectral quality provided by the apex-Qe is essential for absolute molecular formula generation with isotopic analysis of organic molecules. The use of the apex-Qe120 extends this advantage to the analysis of larger organic molecules.Along with an explanation of methods and results, the downloadable document includes GMF processing screen shots and associated figures.
