Fluorescent dyes

The downloadable “Martek Fluorescent Products 2006-2007 Catalog” from Martek Biosciences Corp. details conjugates, assay formats, optical properties and laser excitation lines of the dye types SureLight APC, SensiLight PBXL-1 and PBXL-3, and B- and R-phycoerythrin. It describes the SensiLight P3L flow cytometry conjugates. It notes that the P3L dye is excitable with a 633-nm HeNe or red diode laser and emits at 662 nm, offering high resolution and high relative fluorescence intensity. Kits for small-scale direct conjugation of researchers’ antibodies to Martek’s fluorescent dye are presented. They contain the material needed to conjugate 1 mg of antibody.
