Society of Nuclear Medicine

The Society of Nuclear Medicine of Reston, Va., has developed a procedure guideline for using positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) to image tumors in adults and children. The 11-page document, titled “Procedure Guideline for Tumor Imaging with 18F-FDG PET/CT 1.0,” will be published in the May issue of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. It will assist molecular and nuclear imaging physicians and technologists in recommending, performing, integrating and reporting the results of PET and CT scans with radiopharmaceutical 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose.
