Qualcomm Appoints Mollenkopf EVP, Group President

Next-generation mobile technologies company Qualcomm Inc. announced recently the promotion of Steve Mollenkopf to executive vice president and group president.

The promotion recognizes Mollenkopf’s expanded executive oversight responsibilities over the past year, which included Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT), Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) and Qualcomm MEMS Technologies Inc. (QMT).

He will continue to report to Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, chairman and CEO.

“Aligning our current and future technology development activities for QCT, QIS and QMT under Steve’s executive oversight will further strengthen the company’s ability to successfully navigate an increasingly complex and competitive market,” said Jacobs.

Mollenkopf joined Qualcomm in 1994 as an engineer. He later joined the QCT team in 1999, and in 2008, he was promoted to executive president and president of the company.
