Organic LEDs May Improve Microdisplays
Organic light-emitting diodes (LED) offer several key advantages over conventional LEDs. Their high efficiency and resolution make them well-suited for integration on silicon integrated circuits and high-performance microdisplay systems.
Fed Corp. in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., has unveiled a white-light organic LED with efficiencies of 5 candelas per ampere and 2.5 lumens per watt. The demonstration took place at the Society for Information Display International Symposium in San Jose, Calif.
