Asylum Research Corp.

Santa Barbara, Calif.-based !%Asylum Research Corp.%!, a scanning probe/atomic force microscopy (AFM) provider, has delivered a Cypher AFM and an MFP-3D-BIO AFM to the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Melbourne in Australia. The AFMs will be used to develop nano-scale experiments and theories to measure and predict interactions, collisions and coalescence between droplets and bubbles that underpin applications of foams, emulsions and other soft matter materials. They also will allow researchers to visualize the interactions and surface in soft matter materials through high-resolution imaging on the nano- to molecular scale.
