DTU, UIUC Collaborating on Fiber Lasers
DTU Fotonik Department of Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) are partnering to develop a multicolor femtosecond all-fiber laser for biophotonics applications.
The device will be based on original technologies developed by the groups at DTU Fotonik and UIUC.
Haohua Tu, a scientist from Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory at UIUC, begins a 3-month research stay at DTU Fotonik in October 2010. He will be hosted by the DTU Fotonik Terahertz Technologies and Biophotonics group: Dmitry Turchinovich and Jesper Lægsgaard, associate professors, and Xiaomin Liu, a PhD student.
Stephen A. Boppart, a professor, and head of Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory also is a participant in the project.
