Kuenssberg to Chair Photonics Startup in Scotland
Newly established spinout company from the University of Strathclyde, mLED Ltd. announced the appointment of Professor Nick Kuenssberg as its chairman and investor director.
Kuenssberg’s appointment was secured by Dr. Jim Bonar, the company’s founder and chief executive, within weeks after the completion of a successful investment round led by Braveheart Investment Group.
He brings to the company his experience of working in Europe and South America, as well as a substantial track record with start-up and high tech businesses. These include chairmanships at Iomart Group plc and ScotlandIS.
He currently holds chairman positions at three other private companies and has worked in senior corporate roles at companies such as Coats Viyella, Dynacast International, Scottish Power and Standard Life.
The spinout company’s technology is commercialized as a development platform for micro light sources, and is suitable for life sciences, communications and printing applications.
