!%Palomar Medical Technologies Inc.%! of Burlington, Mass., a developer of light-based systems for cosmetic treatments, announced that it would delay by a few months the launch of its patented home-use laser for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles. The laser is the only one in the US with over-the-counter clearance from the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles around the eye, the company says. Hundreds of participants have tried the laser and were pleased with the results, according to a clinical study. A panel of physicians saw a noticeable reduction in wrinkles in 92 percent of participants after four weeks, and 84 percent of participants stated that, after 12 weeks, their fine lines appeared to be eliminated.
