In Santa Clara, Calif., laser-based products maker !%Coherent Inc.%! announced the shipment of its 1000th Chameleon laser for multiphoton excitation microscopy. Key in bioimaging applications, the “one box” device provides biologists with widely tunable push-button femtosecond output with pulse characteristics that can be modified in seconds. To develop the product, the company said it worked closely with both the user and manufacturing communities.
