STMicroelectronics Appoints New COO

STMicroelectronics announced the recent appointment of Didier Lamouche as its new chief operating officer.

Lamouche will replace Alain Dutheil, who has held the COO position at ST since 2005. Dutheil has decided to retire after 27 years with the company, where he had been instrumental in development since its inception, helping to make it a major global semiconductor company.

Lamouche has been a member of the company’s supervisory board since April 2006. He stepped down Oct. 26, 2010, to serve as COO. Prior to joining the company, he served as chairman and CEO of Groupe Bull, a global IT company.

He joined the company Nov. 1, 2010. On Jan. 26, 2011, following a transition period, he will formally take over as COO and vice president of the strategic committee.

“I would like to welcome Didier to the company; his world-class experience and knowledge will make a significant contribution to ST’s ability to reach new heights in the semiconductor industry,” said Carlo Bozotti, president and CEO.

Lamouche brings more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He has held various senior operational and general management positions. He has worked at Philips, IBM Microelectronics, Motorola and IBM.

In April, he was named "Chevalier of the Legion of Honor" by the French government for his contribution to the digital electronics industry in France.

STMicroelectronics serves customers across the spectrum of electronics applications with innovative semiconductor solutions.
