Murphy Joins IPG Sales Team

Industry veteran Shawn Murphy was recently appointed as regional sales manager for the Southeastern US by IPG Photonics Corp., a high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers provider.

With more than 30 years in the industrial laser business, Murphy has experience selling industrial lasers and systems to OEMs, integrators and end users.

“I am excited to be joining such a forward thinking organization as IPG,” said Murphy. “I believe that our fiber lasers will continue to offer considerable benefits compared to older laser technologies.”

Because of their reliability, high beam quality and efficiency, small footprint and lower total cost of ownership, fiber lasers have become the tool of choice for many applications, he said. These include marking, welding, cutting, drilling and cladding.
