Image Sensor Contract
Chelmsford, UK-based !%e2v technologies plc%!
has been awarded a contract to develop image sensors for the European Space Agency’s
Euclid mission to map the geometry of the dark universe. The global provider of
high-performance imaging solutions will develop a CCD sensor that will form the
visible focal plane array in the space telescope. When launched, the satellite will
orbit the sun 1.5 million km beyond the Earth for a five-year period, surveying
the extragalactic sky.
