Lau Named COO at Applied Energetics

Eric Lau was appointed recently as the chief operating officer and vice president of engineering by Applied Energetics Inc.’s board of directors.

Joining the company in 2002, Lau most recently served as its director of engineering and operations. He has more than 25 years of experience managing projects and organizations in low to high volume production environments for military, commercial and industrial manufacturing customers. Previous responsibilities include management of products from concept through production release, as well as the manufacturing for products that served the automotive, aerospace, military and industrial markets.

Prior to joining the company, Lau worked for Mission Viejo S.A. de C.V, P.L. Porter Co. and ITT General Controls.

The company’s president, Joseph Hayden served as COO before Lau’s appointment. He will remain as the company’s principal executive officer.

Applied Energetics develops and manufactures advanced high performance lasers, high voltage electronics, advanced optical systems and integrated guided energy systems for defense, aerospace, industrial and scientific customers.
