Qioptiq Uses Schneider-Kreuznach Technology

Optics manufacturer, Qioptiq, is now using measuring technology from Schneider-Kreuznach to test for centering errors. At its site in Göttingen, Qioptiq uses the centering tester VP 30508 for measuring both sides of high-precision and partly unmounted lenses, among others. Qioptiq chose this device due to its accuracy and easy handling, for example when calibrating mounted lenses.

“The fact that the tester was developed by engineers who work with it themselves is an advantage. The result is an outstanding, easy-to-use measuring device,” said a representative from Qioptiq.

“We are delighted to have won a new customer with Qioptiq that is as well-known as it is quality-conscious. We see it as a confirmation of our concept of producing and selling premium measurement equipment,” said Dr. Josef Staub, CEO of the Schneider Group.

The centering tester VP 30508 is a device with a proven production track record. It is used for measuring the centering error in mounted and unmounted lenses and cemented elements with the highest precision currently available. It works according to the reflected image method, whereby the centering error is measured directly in accordance with DIN ISO 10110. This does not require exact knowledge of the lens geometry or the material data. In addition, there are no set-up times due to exchanging auxiliary lenses with this measurement method.
