Marchon 3D Issued Patent for Curved 3D Lens Technology
Marchon3D, a division of Marchon Eyewear, was issued a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark office for its curved M
3D three-dimensional lenses.
Specifically, patent 7,854,506 protects the invention of curved lenses configured to decode 3-D content. The patent is directed to the curved lenses, as well as the assembled frames and for the method of manufacturing the curved lenses.
The eyewear manufacturer’s patented M
3D technology is utilized in several product lines of its passive 3-D eyewear, which is used in movie theaters, 3-D gaming consoles and passive 3-D televisions and computers.
“This patent represents another milestone for Marchon3D,” said David Johnson, president. “The grant of our first patent by the US Patent Office is key not only to our portfolio of intellectual property, but assures broad protection for both our existing and future innovations and products.”
The patent prohibits the unauthorized manufacture of lenses falling within the broad scope of the patent. In addition, it covers not only products manufactured or sold in the US, but manufactured abroad and imported into the US as well.
The company has additional pending applications in the US and other countries worldwide that relate to different aspects of the M
3D lenses.
