Photonix Expo and Conference relaunched
Photonix Expo and Conference 2011 will bring together photonics industry representatives
from across Asia and around the world. It will take place April 13-15 at Tokyo Big
Sight Japan.
The newly launched conference and expo combines the former Photonics
Japan, targeted toward optics and photonics, and lasers and sensing, with the optical
communications show Fiber Optics Expo (FOE); it also will comprise many brand-new
hot-topic shows. Organizers expect that 600 companies and 40,000 decision makers
will attend.
The expo will cover technologies for a number of different segments
of the manufacturing industry: electronics, automobiles, medical devices, optical
devices, inspection/measurement/analysis devices, semiconductor and electronic components,
electronic modules and units, optics modules and units, and communications devices.
The conference also provides an abundant program of technical
seminars as concurrent events, so researchers, engineers and scientists from universities
and public R&D centers will also be in attendance.
Photonix Expo and Conference 2011 consists of five concurrent
shows: FOE, in its 11th year; Next Generation Network, which focuses on solutions,
transmission equipment, devices/materials, optical measuring/inspection equipment,
manufacturing equipment and services; the fourth Laser & Application Expo, which
will feature all kinds of laser processing machines, laser oscillators/light sources,
laser measurement instruments and mechanism elements; the fourth Optics Expo, on
the optical components, materials, processing technologies, software/design tools,
contract services and other optoelectronic products; and the newly launched Medical
Photonics Expo, which will cover medical-related areas such as laser oscillators,
image processing devices/technologies, mechanical components/materials and medical
device-related products/technologies. The Optical Sensor Technology Expo, focusing
on optical sensors and optical sensing devices/ optical measuring instruments, will
also be held in 2011.
Exhibitors are expected to include NTT, JDSU, Furukawa Electric,
Fujikura, Sumitomo, Fujitsu, NEC, Opnext, Agilent, Hamamatsu Photonics, Moritex/Schott,
Nipron, Edmund Optics, Kisco, Shimadzu, Nippon Electric Glass, Iwasaki Electric,
JFE, Newport, Laserline, IPG Photonics, Trumpf, Spectra-Physics, Rofin-Baasel and
others.
