Display Maker Hires Optics and Materials Expert
Three-dimensional and display technologies developer 3DIcon Corp. announced the appointment of Dr. Brian G. Hoover as vice president of technology development.
In his new position, Hoover will work with Dr. Hakki Refai, the company’s chief technology officer, and Vivek Bhaman, its technology advisory board chairman, to bring the company’s CSpace volumetric imaging system closer to market.
Hoover founded and acted as CEO and senior scientist at Advanced Optical Technologies (AOT), where he conducted research and development on a host of physical optics topics, including laser metrology, material characterization, nanotechnology and remote sensing based on advanced techniques in laser scattering and polarimetry.
Before founding AOT, Hoover worked at Applied Technology Associates and at Celeste Optics. Before that, he was a postdoctoral fellow and research assistant at the University of Michigan and the University of Houston.
Hoover said he looks forward to helping 3DIcon bring its latest 3-D imaging advancements to market because of their importance to future military capabilities.
