OSA to Organize Laser Optics Berlin
The International Congress at Laser Optics Berlin, to be held March 19 to 21, will be organized by the Optical Society of America. The agreement was signed by Messe Berlin and OSA during the Photonics West trade show in San Francisco.
The International Congress will consist of three individual conferences focusing on research in optics and optical technology: high-intensity lasers and high-field phenomena, questions concerning the processing of quantum information, and the ultrafast dynamics of molecular and crystalline structures.
Besides presenters from the US, Canada, France, Switzerland and Austria, Dr. Thomas Elsässer, director of Max Born Institute Berlin, will be actively involved in planning the congress program.
Laser Optics Berlin is based on a threefold concept comprising the International Congress, Exhibition and Experts' forums. The subject matter of the displays at the exhibition ranges from basic technology to applied laser systems and scientific innovations, as well as the presentation of international projects and joint ventures. For the first time, microsystems technology will be one of the focal points of the exhibition.
