PicoQuant Initiates Imaging Contest
PicoQuant GmbH has issued an invitation to scientists to submit single-photon-counting data taken with the company’s equipment. Winning submissions will earn €3000 (approximately $4200) toward the purchase of PicoQuant equipment and an invitation to the company’s International Workshop on Single Molecule Spectroscopy in Sept.

The company welcomes data acquired with any time-correlated single-photon-counting technique or related method, such as fluorescence imaging, pulsed excitation, laser ablation, nanosurgery or micromanipulation. Approved entries will be presented in the PicoQuant Application Gallery on the company’s website. Any type of specimen is acceptable, including tissues, organisms, single molecules or nanocrystals. The deadline for submissions is May 31.
Through the PicoQuant Application Gallery, the company wants to illustrate both the information and the beauty of measurements that a microscope or a spectrometer can acquire. Submitted entries can be images, graphs, curves or histograms that show this potential. The data does not have to originate from conventional probes such as the cell of a zebra fish,
Arabidopsis or
Drosophila. Creativity in choosing the probe and generating fascinating data is welcome. The submissions will be judged for originality, informational content, technical proficiency and visual impact.
Entries may be submitted through an online form on PicoQuant’s website. Acceptance requires that the data is acquired using a complete system or components from the company.
