LIPA Launched
The Laser Illuminated Projector Association (LIPA) has been launched. Its objectives are to explain the benefits of laser-illuminated projectors, to advocate for a positive regulatory environment, and to develop appropriate training guidelines.
The announcement was made by the LIPA Advisory Committee, which comprises industry leaders from Barco, Christie Digital, Eastman Kodak, Imax Corp., Laser Light Engines, NEC Display Solutions, Necsel/Ushio Ltd. and Sony. The committee’s main goal is to provide the laser-illuminated projector industry a vehicle for creating a regulatory environment.
Its guiding principles include fostering a positive and receptive business environment for laser-based projectors, focusing on professionally operated laser-illuminated projectors greater than or equal to 5000 lumens, promoting education and best practice throughout the value chain, and communicating the benefits of laser illumination.
LIPA is managed by the FlexTech Alliance, which will provide administrative and organizational support.
