Radiant Imaging, Zemax Merge
Radiant Imaging Inc., which specializes in light and color measurement, and Zemax Development Corp., an optical systems provider, announced they have merged, backed by capital from Evergreen Pacific Partners, a private equity fund.
As part of the merger, Paul Caragher will act as chief executive of the combined companies. Founders of both companies will remain in executive positions. Caragher previously served as president of Fluke Networks and Tektronix Service Solutions, both owned by Danaher Corp.
In the short term, the combined businesses will be located in a single facility in Redmond, operating under their respective brands. They will expand customer outreach and technical support functions while beginning to integrate their technologies.
By combining resources, the two companies said they will offer an end-to-end solution for developers designing, testing and producing the next generation of display devices and LED lighting, and will allow them to create new products and meet new demands in the photonics and optics industries.
