Schott Launches Glass Tubing Contest
Schott-Rohrglas GmbH has launched an Internet-based contest that encourages participants to submit design ideas using nonround glass tubing.
A video that explains the contest is available on YouTube (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-3phdaSyFE). Under the motto “Open Innovation” — the first project of its kind at Schott — participants are encouraged to submit ideas for new applications and products using the company’s proprietary Profile Tubing Conturax Pro.
Registration for the contest is now open. Winning entries are eligible to receive prizes totaling more than €15,000 ($21,125) as well as the chance to see their idea become a marketable product.
Entry winners will receive a paid trip to the company’s Mainz headquarters, where they will introduce their idea to a jury at an awards ceremony.
An international technology group, Schott develops and produces special glass, specialty materials, components and systems.
