Alcatel to Supply China with Digital Cross-Connects
BEIJING, Sept. 8 -- Alcatel has been chosen to supply digital cross-connect (DCX) equipment for two of China Telecom's major transmission projects this year. Two sets of Alcatel DCX 4/1 equipment will be installed in Shanghai and Shantou in preparation for the landing of the 30,000 km China-US submarine network. Three additional sets of the same equipment will be deployed to provide international services for the Beijing-Shanghai-Guangzhou long-distance backbone system. Alcatel is a major supplier of submarine network systems for the China-US link.
