Canon Forms Imaging Subsidiary
Canon USA Inc. has established Canon Information and Imaging Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to expanding its overall service to businesses.
The new subsidiary will focus at first on accelerating the growth of sectors such as business process optimization, security services, and imaging and records management. From there, the company intends to expand its business-focused software, middleware and other services. The new company also will offer products and services related to enterprise resource planning and cloud computing technologies.
Joe Adachi, president and CEO of Canon USA, will serve as chairman of the new subsidiary; Seymour Liebman, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel of Canon USA, will serve as president. The new company initially will be composed of personnel from Canon USA’s professional services organization.
Canon Information and Imaging Solutions will leverage the parent company’s existing distribution channels. For select technologies and services, the new company will drive its own direct-selling efforts and will actively pursue new partnerships with system integrators.
Through organic and other growth initiatives, Canon is targeting the company to exceed $500 million in sales by 2014.
