Cell Robotics, Hamilton Thorne to Distribute IVF Technology
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Sept. 16 -- Cell Robotics International Inc. and privately held Hamilton Thorne Research Inc. (HTR) announced that HTR is to market, sell and distribute Cell Robotics' In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Workstation for Laser Assisted Hatching. The terms of the agreement provide HTR with a one-year option to purchase the IVF Workstation technology from Cell Robotics with up-front cash and royalty payments.
Based in Beverly, Mass., Hamilton Thorne Research Inc. plans to launch an aggressive marketing and sales campaign and infuse more than $700,000 into the effort. The companies report that combining technologies through this strategic alliance will provide state-of-the-art instrumentation to improve pregnancy rates in the expanding fertility market.
