RVSI Gets Inspection Equipment Order from Malaysia
CANTON, Mass., Sept. 27 -- Robotic Vision Systems Inc. has received an order valued at over $1 million for multiple units of its LS-7700 laser-based in-tray, three-dimensional inspection system. A large Malaysian semiconductor manufacturer placed the order for the integrated lead inspection systems.
The recovery in semiconductor capital equipment appears to still be gathering steam, said Michael Gray, vice president of sales and marketing for RVSI Electronics. This lead scanning system order pushes us over 50 units for the current quarter; by contrast, we booked only 20 units in this fiscal year's first quarter. This kind of robust growth is especially noteworthy given that the semiconductor industry's own forecasts indicate this is just the first leg of a multi-year growth cycle.
