Solyndra Eligible for BIPV Tariff
A supplier of cylindrical photovoltaic
systems for large commercial rooftops, Solyndra International AG of Baar, Switzerland,
a subsidiary of !%Solyndra LLC%! of Fremont, Calif., announced that the Solyndra 200
series rooftop solar systems are eligible for the French simplified building integrated
solar photovoltaic (BIPV) tariff because of their unique design and synergy with
rooftop construction. Self-ballasted and nonattached, they meet previous wind and
fire standards and can withstand winds up to 208 km/h on slightly tilted rooftops.
They are Broof (t3) classified, one of the few photovoltaic systems rated to this
class, which is important to the solar market in France.
