Sensors Installed on Mount Rushmore

imaging equipment provider !%Micron Optics Inc.%! of Atlanta has installed an optical
interrogation system on the Mount Rushmore National Memorial near Keystone, S.D.
The Rock Block Monitoring System (RBMS) will provide the National Park Service with
information critical to the maintenance of the monument because of the complex assembly
of the Rock Block structures that make up the mountainside on which the carving
is based. The RBMS – composed of one Micron Optics sm125 optical sensing interrogator
and 36 sensors – was installed in partnership with Respec Inc. and the Mount
Rushmore Rope Access Team.
