Laser China trade show diversifies

The wide-ranging world of photonics will be on display March 20-22, 2012, at the seventh annual Laser World of Photonics China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The trade fair will diversify its exhibition range to include laser systems for production engineering, optronics, fiber communication, optics, machine vision, IR technologies, and test and measurement; the focus will be on applications of photonics as well as industry trends.

Companies including Trumpf, Rofin, IPG (Beijing), Shanghai Unity Prima Laser Machinery, Miyachi Shanghai, Han’s Laser Technology, Shenyang Siasun Robot & Automation, SPI, Suzhou Delphi Laser, II-VI, Coherent, Newport, Qioptiq, Raylase, JDSU, Leoni, Physik Instrumente, Wuhan Huagong Laser and Wuhan Chutian Industry Laser Equipment have confirmed participation in the event.

During the three-day show in March 2011, Laser China set attendance records with 361 exhibitors from 18 countries and districts – an increase of 31 percent over 2010 – plus 28,845 professional visitors from 48 countries and districts. Organizers expect another big turnout in 2012, with a mix of researchers, engineers and industry professionals.

For the first time, Photonics Congress China will be presented in conjunction with the Laser China trade fair. The combination of scientific, research and industrial applications both in the conferences and the trade fair is designed to support the exchange between the scientific and industrial sectors. The technical program will include the seventh International Conference on Laser Processes and Components, also known as LPC 2012 and held in cooperation with Picalo.

Other highlights of the technical conference include: Optics Frontier, the seventh Laser Technology Forum and Outstanding Achievements Release Conference of Chinese Optics 2011; the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association Workshop on Optical Communications; OSA’s Energy Photonics Program; and the China (Shanghai) Machine Vision Technology & Application Conference.

Laser China, collocated each year with electronica China and productronica China, is the sister show to the biennial Laser World of Photonics Munich. Both Laser China and Laser Munich are organized by Messe München International.
