EWI Adds Green Laser to Lab
To increase its capability for noncontact joining of small conductive parts, EWI of Columbus, Ohio, has acquired a !%Miyachi Unitek%! LW2AG laser for its welding lab. The company will use the 532-nm green laser to join materials such as gold, copper and copper alloys for its manufacturing customers in the automotive, electronics, medical devices, advanced energy and other industrial market segments. EWI specializes in materials joining and allied technologies for industries including aerospace, defense, energy and chemical, and heavy manufacturing.
