Jenoptik Expanding Laser Production in Berlin
As a result of increased customer demand, the Jenoptik Group announced it will invest approximately €10 million ($13.6 million) to increase laser production at its Berlin site.
The expanded facility, which is expected to more than double the company’s capacity to produce optoelectronic semiconductor components, is anticipated to commence operation in 2013. The updated operation will be equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology for automated production and is designed to process 4-in. wafers.
An integrated optoelectronics group, Jenoptik operates under five divisions: Lasers & Material Processing, Optical Systems, Industrial Metrology, Traffic Solutions and Defense & Civil Systems.
