Raytheon Fiber Transceiver Approved for Building Networks
SUDBURY, Mass., Oct. 6 -- Raytheon Control-By-Light announced that its fiber optic modular transceiver has been approved for use in open multi-vendor LonWorks control networks. The device implements the newly approved Electronic Industry Association fiber optic transceiver protocol standard, EIA-709.4. The EIA standard supports a new generation of energy-efficient, interoperable, intelligent buildings by allowing lights, heating/air-conditioning equipment, appliances, security and access control, and other independently manufactured products and systems to be networked via fiber optic transceivers using the standard LonWorks protocol.
