The agreement will enable process technology developed by DuPont to be used in the company’s production of large AMOLED television displays. The process enables large displays to be produced at significantly lower cost than alternative technologies, offering brighter, sharper images than traditional liquid crystal displays, while also consuming less power, the company said.
DuPont has developed proprietary solution-based printing technology that dispenses liquid OLED materials that it has developed to optimize display yields and performance.
Based on industry estimates, the AMOLED TV market is projected to grow to more than $5 billion by 2017.
