Bruker Wins JPEO-CBD Contract

Bruker Detection Corp. of Billerica, Mass., has received a contract for 40 systems from the Improved Point Detection System – Lifecycle Replacement (IPDS-LR) program through the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense for use by the US Navy. In combination with two other awards related to system support, the contracts are worth about $5.8 million. Deliveries of the systems will begin in late 2011 and continue into 2012. The IDPS-LR system is based on the company’s RAID-S2 trace gas detector for sensing chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals.
