EPS Promotes Year of Light
The European Physical Society (EPS), based in Mulhouse, France, has announced a global project to seek an endorsement by the United Nations proclaiming 2015 as an International Year of Light. Besides celebrating the anniversaries of important milestones in the history of science, the project would include important aspects of education and development. Focus would be directed on how the science of light could improve the quality of life in the developing world and emerging economies. The project prospectus can be downloaded from the society’s website.
