Wagner to Head Jenoptik Laser Processing Unit

Dr. Dietmar Wagner will head the Laser Processing Systems business unit of Jenoptik’s Laser & Material Processing Div., effective immediately, the company said.

Concurrently, Wagner will act as the new general manager of Jenoptik Automatisierungstechnik GmbH — one of the two companies within the business unit he is responsible for.

Wagner brings to his positions more than 25 years of experience in the laser technology and materials processing fields. Prior to joining the company, he was managing director at Lasag AG of Thun, Switzerland.

The laser processing systems business unit, which also participates in the photovoltaics market, develops automated and process-optimized machines and systems for laser-based materials processing. Jenoptik credits its technology transfer from the field of thin-film solar cell processing to the processing of high-tech glass for energy-saving smart windows for the growth of this business segment.
