Gigaphoton Names New Management Team

Gigaphoton Inc. appointed Hitoshi Tomaru as its president and chief executive officer, effective April 1, 2012.

Yuji Watanabe, the current president and CEO, will become chairman of the board, and Hakaru Mizoguchi, director and chief technical officer, will become the executive vice president and CTO, both also effective as of April 1.

Since its foundation on Aug. 1, 2000, Gigaphoton has gained an approximately 50 percent share in the market of excimer laser light sources for semiconductor lithography and has established a stabilized business base. This new management team was appointed to further expand the company’s excimer laser business as well as to accelerate the marketing of next-generation extreme-UV light sources.

Gigaphoton develops deep-UV laser light sources that are used by semiconductor chip makers in the Pan-Asian, US and European regions.
