Potomac Photonics Inc.

Laser microfabrication company !%Potomac Photonics Inc.%! of Lanham, Md., was awarded a supplemental $45,000 grant earlier this year as part of its Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract with the National Science Foundation. The grant covers 90 percent of the company’s membership in the Boston University Center for Biophotonic Sensors & Systems, which is part of the NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Program. “Expanding upon the basic SBIR Phase II research in microwireless sensors, the new funding allows Potomac to work with leading researchers, especially in the areas of biomedical sensors, medical devices and microfluidics,” said contract principal investigator Paul Christensen.
