Edmund Appoints Former Schott Exec to Board

Former Schott executive Gerard Robless was appointed recently to the board of directors at Edmund Optics, the optical components company announced.

Robless brings marketing and sales experience in industrial optics, optoelectronics and project display components as well as a network of contacts in Germany, Japan and Taiwan. He will focus his efforts on three committees: manufacturing and technology, audit, and finance and compensation.

He spent more than 25 years at Schott, starting his career in Malaysia as a regional operations manager. He retired from his position as managing director of Schott Singapore and senior consultant overseeing the expansion of optics into Asia.

“This will be a very exciting and rewarding experience,” Robless said. “I respect the business savvy and success of the company and its board under the leadership of Robert [Edmund] and look forward to working with them on new ventures and directions.”
