Headwall, ReSe Partner for Spectral Imaging Line

Hyperspectral imaging instrument maker Headwall Photonics has announced that the Parge remote-sensing software from ReSe Applications Schläpfer is available for its Hyperspec airborne hyperspectral sensor family.

The software provides orthorectification and direct geocoding for airborne imager data, which is acquired with Headwall’s hyperspectral imaging sensors, and a reconstruction of the scanning geometry of airborne data cubes on a pixel-by-pixel basis using the altitude and position of the airplane. It can be used in conjunction with terrain elevation data.

Headwall’s hyperspectral sensors have been used by earth scientists globally for commercial and civilian remote sensing applications. The company uses a patented, aberration-corrected reflective Hyperspec design to offer civilian customers and researchers spectral and spatial imaging performance with a very wide field of view for flight swath efficiency.

The company plans to take advantage of the ReSe remote sensing software to complement its family of Hyperspec and Micro-Hyperspec airborne imagers.

“Airborne remote sensing applications represent a key strategic initiative for Headwall; the software capabilities offered by ReSe Applications are important to provide complete imagery solutions for hyperspectral data sets,” said CEO David Bannon.

ReSe Applications Schläpfer, a spin-off from the Remote Sensing Laboratories of the University of Zurich, develops software for geometric and atmospheric preprocessing of optical remote sensing data.
