RVSI Gets Order for Semiconductor Inspection Equipment
CANTON, Mass., Nov. 24 -- Robotic Vision Systems Inc. has received orders valued at approximately $1 million for multiple units of its LS-7700 laser-based in-tray three-dimensional chip inspection system and optional two-dimensional package visual inspection. The company reported that the orders were placed by a major Asian semiconductor manufacturer.
According to Michael Gray, vice president of sales and marketing for RVSI Electronics, the order demonstrates customers migrating from older generations of equipment as their needs evolve. In evaluating its new requirements, Gray said, the customer purchasing the systems saw a need for two- and three-dimensional laser-based inspection and two-dimensional camera-based package visual inspection.
