Universal Display Buys Fujifilm’s OLED Patents
Universal Display Corp. has paid $105 million for Fujifilm Corp.’s worldwide portfolio of more than 1200 organic LED (OLED) patents and patent applications.
The two companies have agreed to a strategic relationship that will allow Universal Display to strengthen its patent portfolio and to explore new areas of OLED materials and product development for the future. Fujifilm will expand its business for the supply of its highly functional materials, such as barrier and conductive films, and flexible substrates, to OLED manufacturers worldwide.
Universal Display develops OLED technologies, materials and services for the lighting and display industries.
