Mobius Co-Founders Take on New Roles
Mark “Red” Byer and Manuel Leonardo, co-founders of Mobius Photonics Inc., were promoted to new positions at the fiber-based laser source company.
Byer, formerly vice president of operations, was named chief operating officer. He is credited with leading the company’s headquarters build-out and for implementing an enterprise resource planning system, as well as building its IT foundation. His previous positions include serving as senior design engineer at Novawave Technologies and Lightwave Electronics.
Leonardo was promoted from vice president of technology to chief technology officer. He has more than 10 years of experience developing ultraviolet laser systems, and also developed and built high-peak-power laser systems with highly efficient nonlinear conversion. He has five patents and is the co-author of several technical articles on laser technologies. Prior to co-founding Mobius, he was an optical engineer at Lightwave Electronics.
