Tu to Lead Asia Pacific Sales at GigOptix

Victor Tu, a 20-year semiconductor sales and engineering veteran, is the new vice president of sales for the Asia Pacific region, fabless semiconductor and optical components supplier GigOptix Inc. announced recently.

“We have continuously grown our business in the Asia Pacific region to date, but this new role will enable us to take our customer engagements to the next level,” said Dr. Avi Katz, GigOptix CEO and board chairman. “We are challenging Victor to help improve our market position in one of the fastest-growing regions for the communications market."

Tu previously served as vice president of sales at Gennum Corp., which was acquired by Semtech Corp. in March. Before that, he worked for an array of startup optical component companies, where he managed and directed sales. He started his career in product development and worked for various semiconductor and high-tech companies.
