JDSU Sells Holographic Security Line

JDSU will sell its holographic security business to anti-counterfeiting solutions provider OpSec Security Inc. of Lancaster, Pa., the company announced recently. Specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.

JDSU serves the anti-counterfeiting market through its advanced security pigments, thread substrates and printed features for the currency, pharmaceutical and consumer electronic segments. Its holographic security product line primarily addresses the transaction card market segment and generates approximately $5 million per quarter.

The transaction, which is expected to close in late December, will help JDSU to focus on innovation in its core anti-counterfeiting markets, the company said.
