Toptica Again Named to Rochester’s Top 100

For the third year in a row, laser manufacturer Toptica Photonics Inc. has earned a place on the list of Rochester’s top 100 businesses, as selected by Rochester Business Alliance and KMPG LLCP.

The Rochester Top 100, now in its 26th year, is an annual list of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the Rochester region. It ranks privately held companies based on three most recent years of revenue growth. Companies must have at least $1 million in revenue for each of those years, and rankings take into account both dollar and percentage growth.

Toptica, in business since 1995, makes lasers and related equipment for applications in scientific research including atomic physics, metrology, microscopy, printing, and optical disc manufacturing, among others.

In the past year, the company has added four people — a 25 percent increase — to its sales and management team, and has opened a new office in San Jose, Calif.
