CSA Group Acquires Orb Optronix

CSA Group has acquired Orb Optronix of Kirkland, Wash., to provide LED and lighting metrology testing and certification services to global lighting manufacturers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CSA Group has a 30,000-sq-ft testing facility in Atlanta to provide LED and lighting product testing and certification for more than 75 different standards as well as required third-party Energy Star, LED Lighting Facts and DesignLights Consortium testing. The organization also provides energy efficiency verification services in Cleveland, Toronto, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai.

Under terms of the agreement, CSA Group will retain the 17 current employees of Orb Optronix.
