Patent Office Accepts E-Applications

The US Patent & Trademark Office will expand its electronic filing system to include most patent requests. The office has allowed trademark customers to file applications over the Internet for a year.

In July, the office instituted a patent application retrieval system, which enables applicants the secure access to view the contents and status of their submissions. Now, a pilot program allows applicants to submit all forms and drawings and to pay filing fees online.
