Melles Griot Agrees To Acquire Omnichrome

After a month of rumor and speculation that began at the Photonics West exhibition, Melles Griot Inc. announced that it will acquire Omnichrome Corp. According to Melles Griot CEO David Hardwick, Omnichrome will move from its Chino, Calif., location to Melles Griots' Carlsbad, Calif., site over the next few months. Personnel changes are not expected other than those related to the change in location, and Melles Griot plans to retain the Omnichrome product name because customers have come to equate it with quality, Hardwick said.
